Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, orijinal adı The Preschool Anxiety Scale olan Okul Öncesi Çocuklarda Anksiyete Ölçeğini geçerli ve güvenilir bir şekilde Türkçe’ye uyarlamaktır. Yöntem: Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul ilinin farklı ilçe-lerinden 4 özel anaokulu ve 3 devlet anaokulunun toplamda 311 erkek ve kız öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Ölçek beşli likert seçeneği olan 29 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Sonuçlar: Uygulanan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucu ölçeğin 4 faktörlü bir yapı gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Bu faktörler sırasıyla “Toplumsal anksiyete”, “Yaygın anksiyete”, “Ayrılık anksiyetesi” ve “Özgül fobi”dir. Güvenirlik çalışmalarında ise iç tutarlık katsayıları tüm ölçek için .93 ve alt ölçekler-den toplumsal anksiyete bozukluğu için .84, yaygın anksiyete bozukluğu için .81, ayrılık anksiyetesi bozukluğu için .73 ve özgül fobi için .82’dir. Test-tekrar test güvenirlik katsayısı ise 3 ay ara ile 1 ve 1’e yakın (r≤1) bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Çalışmada yer alan bulgular, ölçeğin geçerli ve güvenilir bir şekilde okul öncesi çocukların anksiyete se-viyelerini ölçebileceğini göstermektedir.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to adapt the Preschool Anxiety Scale into Turkish in a valid and reliable way.Method: The sample consisted of 311 preschool girls and boys who attend private and public kindergartens in vario-us parts of Istanbul. The scale consists of 29 items constructed in the form of a 5-point scale. Results: The results of confi rmatory factor analysis show that the scale consists of four factors. These factors are labeled “social anxiety”, “generalized anxiety”, “separation anxiety” and “specifi c phobia”. The Cronbach alpha coeffi cient was .93 for overall scale, for social phobia was .84, for generalized anxiety was .83, for separation anxiety was .73 and for specifi c pho-bia was .82. The test-retest reliability coeffi cient was 1 and almost 1 (r=1) over three months. Discussion: The results of the study indicated that the scale can be used to measure preschool children’s anxiety levels.
