Epilepsi, genel popülasyonda oldukça sık görülen nörolojik bir hastalıktır. Fokal nöbetlerni özel bir tipi kompleks parsiyel nöbet olarak bilinir ve tedaviye dirençli fokal nöbetler arasında en sık görülenidir. Tedaviye dirençli kompleks parsiyel nöbetli olgularda en sık görülen patoloji mezial temporal lob sklerozu (MLS)'dur. Manyetik rezonans görüntüleme MLS'nun gösterilmesinde günümüzde oldukça değerli bir yöntemdir. Çalışma serimizde, MRG ile tanısı konulan 18 MLS olgusu klinik, elektroensefalografi ve bilgisayarlı beyin tomografisi bulguları ile karşılaşürmalı olarak incelendi.

Epilepsy is a common neurologic disorder in gener­al population. Complex partial seiruze (CPS) is the most common type of the focal seizure and con­sidered to be the most resistant of seizures to med­ical management. In patients with medically in­tractable CPS, mesial temporal sclerosis is the most common pathologic abnormality found, hav­ing been described as the cause of CPS. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRTJ of the hippocampus is a valuable, noninvasive localization method in CPS. In our study, we analyzed 18 patients which have been established mesial temporal sclerosis by MRI and compared with clinical, electroencephalograp-hical, and computed tomographical findings.
