Bu çalışmada önce kadınlarda alkol bağımlılığı ile ilgili literatürdeki bilgiler gözden geçirilmekte, sonra üç olgunun psikososyal öyküsü verilmektedir. Kısıtlı hasta sayısı genellemelerde bulunmayı engellediği için tartışmada sadece bu üç olgudaki ortak yönler ve bunların literatürdeki bulgularla uyumluluğu üzerinde durulmuştur.
