Kimliğin kendini tanımlama, toplum içinde tanınma ve aidiyet gibi kavramsal bileşenleri aynı zamanda insani birer ihtiyaçtır. Geleneksel toplumlarda bir insanın kimliği değişmez ve durağan nitelikteyken, modernitede oldukça devingen, yeniliğe açık ve etkileşimseldir. Kimlik günümüzde hala görece sınırları çizilmiş kalmakla birlikte eskiye oranla katı halden çok daha kırılgan ve esnek hale gelmiştir. Tarihsel süreçte hayatlarının çoğunu yerel kültür ağlarında ve bu ağlar tarafından belirlenen etkileşimlerde bulunarak geçiren insanlık, internet ve siber uzam sayesinde küresel kitle kültürüne geçiş yapmıştır. Bu dönüşüm kültürel hayatın dokusunu değiştirmekle kalmamış, bireylerin kimlik katmanlarını da daha karmaşık ve birbirine benzer hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışma modern toplumlarda bireylerin kimlik oluşumları sürecine etki eden faktörler ile gelişen teknoloji ve siber uzam bağlamında dissosiye olma hallerinin potansiyel bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkan "Siber Dissosiyasyon" ve "Siber Alter Kişilik" kavramlarını teorik bir çerçevede açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. "Siber Dissosiyasyon" ve "Siber Alter Kişilik" kavramlarının Öztürk ve Çalıcı tarafından teorik ve klinik olarak tanımlandığı çalışma, ulusal ve uluslararası literatürde konuya ilişkin yayım ve araştırmaların derlenmesi ve hermönitik bir yaklaşımla yeniden yorumlanması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.

The conceptual components of identity, such as self-definition, recognition and belonging in society, needs of human beings at the same time. In traditional societies, while a person's identity is unchangeable and stationary, in modernity it is highly dynamic, open to newness and interactive. Although the boundaries of identity still being drawn, relative to the past identity has become more fragile and flexible at present. Throughout history, humans have spent most of their lives in local cultural networks and in the interactions determined by these networks, thanks to internet and cyber space they have transitioned to global mass culture. This transformation has not changed only the texture of cultural life, but has also made the layers of identity of individualsmore complex and similar. This study aims to explain theoretically the concepts of "Cyber Dissociation" and "Cyber Alter Personality" which are emerging as a potential consequance of dissociation in the context of developing technology and cyber space by taking into consideration the factors affecting the identity formation processes of individuals in modern societies. The study that defines the concepts of "Cyber Dissociation" and "Cyber Alter Personality" by Öztürk and Çalici, was carried out based on the compilation and reinterpretation of publications and researches in the national and international literature with a hermeneutic approach.
