Bu çalışma haloperidol ve zuklopentiksol'un antipsikotik etkinlik ve yan etkilerini karşılaştırmak amacıyla gerçekleştirildi. DSM-IV ölçütlerine göre şizofreni ve şizofreniform tanısı alıp, zuklopentiksolle sağaltılan 15, haloperidol'e sağaltılan 20 hasta çalışmaya alındı. Hastaların mevcut durumlarının değerlendirilmesinde, Andreasen tarafından geliştirilen negatif ve pozitif belirtilere değerlendirme ölçekleri; ilaçlara bağlı yan etkilerin değerlendirilmesinde Udvalget for Kliniske Undersegelser (UKU) yan etki değerlendirme ölçeği kullanıldı. Sonuç olarak; zuklopentiksol negatif ve pozitif belirtilerin toplamına ve yalnız pozitif belirtilere etkinlik yönünden haloperidol'den üstün, negatif belirtilere etkinlik yönünden ise haloperidol'den farksız bulundu. Her iki antipsikotik yan etkiler yönünden de farklı bulunmadı. Bu bulgular, zuklopentiksol'un yatıştırıcı özellikleri ile zayıf etkili nöroleptiklere, antipsikotik etkinlikleri yönüyle de kuweib; nöroleptiklere benzediğini göstermiştir.

This study was carried out to compare the efficacy and side effects of haloperidol and zuclopenthixol. 15 patients treated with zuclopenthixol and 20 patients with haloperidol whom diagnosed as schizophrenia and schizophreniaform disorder according to DSM-IV criteria, were included in the study. In the assesment of the present condition of the patient, the scale for the asessment of negative and positive symptoms assesment and Udvalget for Kliniske Undersegelser (UKU) side effects assessment scale were used. In conclusion, zuclopenthixol was found to be more efficient than haloperidol according to accumulation of positive and negative symptoms and only positive symptoms, but not to be different than haloperidol according to negative symptoms. The both antipsychotic drugs findings had not found to be different for side effects to each other. These findings had shown that zuclopenthixol seemed to be similar to phenothiazines according to sedative effects and to butyrophenones according to antipsychotic effects.
