Amaç ve Gerekçe: Bu çalışmada amaç cinsel işlev bozukluğu olan erkekler İle olmayan grubu cinsel mitlere İnanma ve cinsiyet rolleri açısından karşılaştırmakür. Yöntem: Çalışmaya ÇÜFT Psikiyatri poliklini­ğine cinsel sorunları nedeniyle Daşvuran, DSM-IVe göre cinsel işlev bozukluğu tanısı alan, 41 erkek hasta alınmıştır. Hastalara Cinsel Mitler Anketi ve Bern Cinsiyet Rolü En­vanteri uygulanmıştır. Ölçek sonuçlan yaş ve eğitim düzeyleri benzer, cinsel işlevle ilgili başvurulan olmayan 35 erkekle karşılaştınl-mıştır.
Sonuçlar: Cinsel Mitler Ölçeği puan ortala-malan iki grup arasında farklılık gösterme­mektedir. Cinsel işlev bozukluğu olan erkek­lerle normal grup karşılaştırıldığında, erkeklik cinsiyet rolüne sahip olanlar, cinsel işlev bo­zukluğu olanlar arasında daha az sayıdadır. Değerlendirme: Sonuçlar cinsel işlev bozuk­luğu olan erkeklerin kendilerini toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinde başnsız ve yetersiz gördük­lerini desteklemektedir. Aynca cinsel işlev bo­zukluğu olmayan erkeklerde de cinsel mitlere inanmanın yüksek düzeylerde olması, top­lumda cinsellikle ilgili bilgilerin eksikliği ya da yanlışlığı ile yommlanabiTir. Bu nedenle genel toplumda daha çok denek içeren çalışmaların yapılması cinsel eğitim açısından yol göstereci olabilir.

Object: The aim of the study was to compare the males with and without sexual dysfuncti­on with regard to belief in sexual myths and sex roles.
Method: The sample consisted of 41 men who admitted to the Psychiatry Department of Çukurova University for their sexual prob­lems and were diagnosed as a sexual disorder according to DSM-IV. The Sexual Myths Qu­estionnaire and Bern Sex Role Inventory were used. The scores of the scales were compared with a control group consisted of 35 men who had similar age and educational level and did not have sexual problems. Results: The scores of Sexual Myths Questi­onnaire did not show difference between two groups. But as we compared the males with and without sexual dysfunction with regard to their sex roles, the men who had masculi­ne role were fewer among the dysfunctional group.
Discussion: Results suggested that the males with sexual dysfunctionfound themselves un­successful and inadequate in their social sex roles. The high levels of belief in sexual myths among the nondysfunctional group too, can be interpreted as lack of mislearning of sexu­al education in the society. We thought that the studies with more subjects of normal ge­neral pupolation would be beneficial for plan­ning the sexual education.
