Acil, psikiyatri ve nöroloji polikliniklerinde sık görülen yalancı nöbetli hastalar nörolog ve psikiya-tristlerin birlikte değerlendirmesi gereken önemli bir grubu oluştururlar. Biz, bu hasta grubunu çok boyutlu olarak araştırmayı amaçladık. Araştırmaya alınma koşullarını karşılayan 33 yalancı nöbete sahip hasta, 10 sağlıklı kontrol ve 12 epilepsi has­tası ile karşılaştırıldı. Yalancı nöbetleri ortaya çıkarmada telkin yöntemi kullanıldı ve tüm denek­lerin EEG çekimleri yapıldı. Yalancı nöbetleri olan grupta % 27.27 oranında bulunan test pozitifliği diğer gruplara göre anlamlı olarak yüksek olarak değerlendirildi. EEG bozukluğu ise yalancı nöbete sahip grupta daha düşük bulundu. DSM-III-R tanı kriterlerine göre konversiyon ve somatizasyon bozukluğuna sık rastlandı. Fizik ve cinsel kötüye kullanım tanımlamayan hastalarda kişilik bozuk­lukları önemli düzeyde yüksek bulundu.

Physicians can see the patients with pseudoseizure frequently in emergency services, psychiatric and neurologic outpatient clinics. Pseudoseizures con­stitute an important group that psychiatrists and neurologists should evaluate. We aimed to study this patient group in many aspects. Thirty-three patients with pseudoseizures matching the inclu­sion criteria were compared with 10 healthy con­trol and 12 epileptic patients. Suggestion was used to induce seizures and EEG was recorded in all patients. The test was positive in 27.27 % of the patients with pseudoseizure. Positivity was much higher than those in the control groups. EEG abnormality in the patients with pseudoseizure wes lesser than the other groups. Conversion and somatization disorders according to DSM-III-R were found to be frequent. Personality disorders in the patients not reporting physicial and sexual abose, were found importantly high level.
