Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Gaziantep Üniversitesi Mediko-Sosyal Merkezi’nde (MSM) psikiyatrik değerlendirmeye alınan
üniversite öğrencilerinin klinik tanı ve sosyodemografik özelliklerini araştırmaktır. Yöntem: Örneklem 10.01.2001-
24.04.2004 tarihleri arasında MSM’ne başvuran 86 üniversite öğrencisini kapsamaktadır. Psikiyatristlerin öğrencilerle
ilgili tutmuş oldukları tıbbi kayıtlar temel alınarak öğrencilere konan tanı, yaşı, cinsiyeti, geldikleri bölge ve kaldıkları yer
gibi sosyodemografik özellikleri geriye yönelik olarak incelendi. Sonuçlar: Seksen altı öğrencinin %57’si erkek (yaş
ortalaması 21.70, SD=2.08); %43’ü kızlardan (yaş ortalaması 20.92, SD=2.03) oluşmuştur. Öğrencilerin %38’i Güneydoğu
Anadolu, %26’sı Akdeniz, %16’sı Doğu Anadolu, %20’si diğer bölgelerden gelmiştir. Öğrencilerin %67.4’ü yurtta, %19.8’i
ailesiyle, %10.5’i öğrenci evinde kalmaktadır. %78’ine bir psikiyatrik tanı, %22’sine eştanı konmuştur. Öğrencilerin %28’ine
sadece depresyon, %16’sına depresyon eştanısı konmuştur. Öğrencilerin %34.8’ine sadece anksiyete bozukluğu, %16.3’üne
ise herhangi bir anksiyete türünden eştanı konmuştur. Öğrencilerin %8’ine diğer psikiyatrik tanılar konmuştur. Tartışma:
Hastalara ilk sırada anksiyete, daha sonra depresyon tanılarının konduğu, bu açıdan genel psikiyatri polikliniklerine göre
çok farklılaşma göstermediği, fakat yanısıra psikoz, iki uçlu bozukluk gibi bozuklukların genel bir psikiyatri polikliniğinde
beklenenden daha az sıklıkta görüldüğü anlaşılmı

Objective: The aim of the study, which is conducted in Psychological Counseling Unit of Medico Social Center of
Gaziantep University, is to examine the students taken under treatment in terms of clinical and sociodemographic
features. Method: Sample group consists of 86 university students who applied to Medico Social Center of Gaziantep
Universty between 10. 01. 2001 and 24.04.2004. Clinical diagnosis that students get and socio-demographic features such as age, sex, location in which they stay and the regions they come from have been examined by taking medical records
43% of them were female (mean=20.92, SD=2.03). 38% of the students come from South Eastern Anatolia region, 26%
taken psychiatrists about students in consideration. Results: 57% of 86 students were male (mean=21.70, SD=2.08) and
from Mediterian, 16% from Eastern Anatolia; 67.4% of them stays in dormitory, 19.8% live with their family and 10.5%
live in students’ house. 78% of these students take single psychyiatric diagnosis and 22% of them have comorbidities.
28% of the whole students take only one diagnosis of any depressive disorders, 16% of them have comorbidities. 34.8%
of the students have only one of any anxiety disorders and 16.3% of them have comorbidities in any kind of anxiety
disorders. Only 8% of patients take other clinical diagnosis. Conclusion: Most of the patients have anxiety and
depressivve disorders, respectively and in this regard similar to general psychiatric outpatient clinics. But the
frequencies of some disorders such as bipolar disorders and psychotic disorders were lower than those seen in general
psychiatric outpatient clinics.
