Bu araştırmanın amacı, bilişsel becerileri destekleyen bir kutu oyununun yaşlıların yalnızlık, psikolojik iyi oluş ve bilişsel becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma "deneme modeli" olarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmada bağımsız değişken, ön test ve son test arasında deney grubuna uygulanan bilişsel becerileri destekleyen sil baştan adlı kutu oyunudur. Çalışmanın bağımlı değişkenleri ise yaşlıların yalnızlık, psikolojik iyi oluş ve bilişsel beceri düzeyleridir. Araştırmada uygulanan kutu oyununun, yaşlı bireylerin yalnızlık, psikolojik iyi oluş ve bilişsel becerilerini nasıl etkilediğini görmek amacıyla, "ön test- son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen" kullanılacaktır. Araştırma özel bir huzurevinde 65 yaş ve üzeri yaşlıların katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırma 8' i deney 8'i kontrol olmak üzere 16 yaşlı birey ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada, verileri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulmuş “Kişisel Bilgi Soru Listesi”, çalışmaya katılanların yalnızlık düzeyini  ölçmek amacıyla Russell ve ark. (1978) tarafından geliştirilen Türkçeye uyarlaması ise Demir (1989) tarafından yapılan 20 maddeden ve tek boyuttan oluşan UCLA Yalnızlık Ölçeği, Psikolojik iyi oluş düzeyini ölçmek için Tennant ve ark., (2007) tarafından geliştirilen Keldal (2015) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan 14 maddeden ve tek boyuttan oluşan Warwick-Edinburgh Mental İyi Oluş Ölçeği, Bilişsel Becerileri ölçmek için ise Nasreddine ve ark., (2005) tarafından geliştirilen Türkçeye uyarlaması Selekler ve Cangöz (2009) tarafından yapılan Montreal Bilişsel Değerlendirme  Ölçeği (MOCA) kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında elde ettikleri puanların karşılaştırılması amacıyla Mann Withney U Testi ve Wilcoxon Eşleştirilmiş Çiftler İşaretlenmiş Sıra Sayıları testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda oyununun bilişsel becerileri geliştirdiği, yalnızlık düzeyini düşürdüğü ve psikolojik iyi oluşu yükselttiği bulunmuştur.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a box game supporting cognitive skills on cognitive skills  of the elderlys  loneliness, psychological well-being and. The research was designed as a "trial model". The independent variable in the study is gaming  "Sil Bastan" which supports the cognitive skills applied to the experimental group between pre-test and post-test. The dependent variables of the study are the loneliness, psychological well-being and cognitive skill levels of the elderly. "Pre-test-post-test control group experimental design" will be used in order to see how the box game which applied to the research affects the loneliness, psychological well-being and cognitive skills of elderly individuals. The research was conducted in a private nursing home together  the participation of 65 years of age and older.  This study was conducted with 16 elderly individuals, 8 of whom were  experiment and 8 of whom were controls. In the study, the "Personal Information Questionnaire" was developed.To measure the level of loneliness of participants in the study. Developed by Russell et al.  (1978) developed the of the Turkish version of the UCLA Loneliness Scale consisting of 20 items and one dimension made by Demir (1989), 14 items adapted to Turkish by Keldal (2015) developed by  Tennant et al. The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale. (MOCA) adapted to by Selekler and Cangöz (2009), developed by Nasreddine et al. (2005), was used to measure cognitive abilities. Mann Withney U Test and Wilcoxon Paired Couple Marked Sequence Numbers test was applied to the experimental and control groups in order to compare the scores obtained before and after the application. As a result of the research, it was found that the game developed cognitive skills, lowered the level of loneliness and improved psychological well-being.
