Türkiye'de psikiyatrinin durumunu değerlendirmeyi amaçlayan bu çalışma; ruhsal bozuklukların yaygınlığı, ruh sağlığı hizmetine ulaşım yolları, psikiyatristlerin sayısı ve özellikleri, yataklı tedavi kurumlarının dağılımı, psikiyatri uzmanlık eğitimi ile klinik yönelimler ve bilimsel çalışmalarla ilgili bilgileri gözden geçirmiştir

The aim of this article is to review the status of psychiatry in Turkey. We reported the frequency of the psychiatric disorders, how the patients get mental health care, the number and the qualifications of the psychiatrists, the distribution of the inpatient treatment clinics, the education and orientation of psychiatrists, the quality and the quantity of clinical researchs.
