Amaç: Ergen ve gençlerde ilaçla özkıyım girişiminden önceki 3-4 gün içinde belirginleşen depresif belirtileri ve öne çıkan
stres etkenlerini saptamak. Yöntem: Çalışma 2002 yılı içinde Dicle Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde Psikiyatri ve Acil Tıp
Anabilim Dalları’nın işbirliğiyle yürütüldü. 15-19 yaşları arasındaki 50 kişi A grubunu, 20-30 yaşları arasındaki 50 kişi B
grubunu oluşturdu. Veriler yarı-yapılandırılmış Bilgi Formu yardımıyla hasta ve hasta yakınlarıyla tek tek görüşülerek elde
edildi. Sonuçlar: Yüz hastanın 78’i kadın, 73’ü bekardı, 83’ü il merkezinde oturmaktaydı, 6’sının bilinci kapalıydı. A
grubunun yaş ortalaması 17.5±1.2; B grubunun yaş ortalaması 24.3±3.2 idi. A grubunun %40’ı, B grubunun %20’si 17-19
saatleri arasında ilaç almıştı. Aşırı üzüntülü hal-çabuk ağlama A grubunda %36, B grubunda %78; aşırı sinirlilik A grubunda
%52 B grubunda %70; kendini suçlama-değersiz olduğunu söyleme A grubunda %24 B grubunda %62 oranında saptandı. A
grubunda aile içi sorunlar (%22), ruhsal hastalık (%20), okul sorunları (%16) öne çıkan stres etkenleriyken; B grubunda
ruhsal hastalık (%34), aile içi sorunlar (%28), bedensel hastalık (%26), sorunlu duygusal ilişki (%20) öne çıkan stres
etkenleriydi. Tartışma: Aşırı üzüntülü hal ve aşırı sinirlilik ilaçla özkıyım girişimi öncesi evrede her iki grupta öne çıkan
belirtilerdir. A grubunun özkıyım girişimleri genellikle stres faktörlerine ani tepki verme ve çevreye mesaj sunma
nitelikleri taşımaktadır. B grubunda depresif yakınmalar ve psikosomatik özellikler gösteren fiziksel hastalıklar daha
yoğun görülmektedir. Özkıyım girişimlerinin önlenmesi için yaş dönemlerine özgü sorunların bilinmesi ve belirtilere dikkat
edilmesi yararlı sonuçlar doğuracaktır

Objective: To define depressive symptoms and major stress factors 3-4 days before attempted suicide in adolescents
and youths. Methods: This study was performed at Dicle University Medical Faculty with collaboration of Departments
of Psychiatry and Emergency in 2002. Group A was 50 patients (age 15-19) and Group B was 50 patients (age 20-30).
Data was acquired from patients and relatives with a semi-structured form. Results: Among 100 patients, 78 were
female, 73 bachelors, 83 were living in central city and 6 were unconscious. The mean age for Group A and B were
17.5±1.2 [year]s and 24.3±3.2 [year]s respectively. Forty percent of patients in Group A and 20% in Group B took medicine between 17 and 19 hours. Thirty-six percent of Group A and 78% of Group B were over sad and quickly crying; %52 of
Group A and 70% of Group B were over angry; 24% of Group A and 62% of Group B were saying they are guilty and
worthless. The major stress factors in Group A were family problems (22%), mental disease (20%), and school problems
(16%) while in Group B mental disease (34%), family problems (28%), physical illness (26%), and problem love affair (20%)
were major stress factors. Discussion: Being over sad and over angry were major symptoms in both group before suicide
attempt. In Group A, patients were generally overreacting to stress factors and trying to give message to people around
before suicide attempt. In Group B, patients were depressive and complaining from physical illness with psychosomatic
appearance before suicide attempt. To prevent suicide attempt, age related problems should be known and suicide sign
must be carefully taken in account.
