Sağlık Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin depresyon yönelik tutumları

Amaç: Bu çalışmada sağlık yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin depresyon ile ilgili tutumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem:
Araştırma Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksekokulu’nda araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen anket formu kullanılarak
gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmaya 268 öğrenci katılmıştır. Anket formunda sosyodemografik bilgiler ve sağlık bilgileri ile ilgili
12, depresyonlu hasta ile ilgili 18 madde bulunmaktadır. Bulgular: Depresyonlu olgu örneği ile ilgili olarak katılımcıların
%78’i olguda ruhsal bir hastalık olduğunu belirtmiştir. %74’ü klinik tablonun sosyal sorunlardan, %54’ü kişilik yapısının
zayıflığından kaynaklandığını düşünmektedir. %87’si benzer yakınmaları zaman zaman herkesin yaşayabileceğini, %81’i
olguda aşırı üzüntü halinin bulunduğunu bildirmiştir. %66’sı benzer yakınmaları olan kişilerin hayatları ile ilgili doğru
kararlar alamayacağını düşünmektedir. %94’ü klinik tablonun tedavi edilebilen bir durum olduğunu, %40’ı bu hastaların
mutlaka hastaneye yatırılarak tedavi edilmeleri gerektiğini düşündüğü gözlenmiştir. Sonuç: Sağlık Yüksekokulu
öğrencilerinin depresyonlu olgu örneğine bir ruhsal hastalık olarak baktığı, depresyonlu olgu örneğine bakış açısının
genelde olumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Ancak öğrencilerin olgunun tedavisinin hastanede yatırılarak yapılması gerektiğini
düşündüğü, psikolog ve psikiyatrist kavramları konusunda bilgi eksiklerinin bulunduğu görülmüştür.
The attitude of the students of Health School toward depression
Objective: It is aimed to determine the attitudes of the students of the school of health toward depression. Method:
The study was carried out in Celal Bayar University School of Health. The sample consisted of 268 students. A
questionnaire which was designed by the authors was used. The questionnaire has 12 items for sociodemographic
features and health condition, 18 items for depression. Results: Related to depression vignette, 78% of participant
stated that the case has a mental disease, three-fourths of them stated that this condition arise from social problems,
and more than half of them stated that it is due to the weakness of personality. Eighty-seven per cent expressed that
everybody may experience such complaints sometimes, eighty-one per cent stated that there is a condition of extreme
worry, and sixty-six per cent stated that such persons can not make correct decision on their own life. Ninety-four per
cent of the subjects stated that this condition is a treatable one and fourty per cent stated that they must be
absolutely hospitalized. Conclusion: It has seen that the students of Health School consider the depressive case
vignette as a mental disease. Their interpretation about this case is generally positive. But it is determined that the
students have an opinion that the case involved must be treated as inpatient and they have no adequate information about the difference between psychologist and psychiatrist.
