Epileptik auralar eski çağlardan beri tanımlanmaktadır. Olfaktor epileptik
auralar oldukça nadir görülür. Tüm auralaron yaklaşık %0,9’unu
oluşturur. Tipik olarak hoşa gitmeyen ve rahatsızlık veren kokular şeklinde
duyulur. Hastalaron büyük çoğunluğu yakıcı bir his; sülfür, alkol,
gaz, ızgara kokusu, fostok, tereyağo veya diş macunu şeklinde rahatsızlık veren kokular olarak tanımlar. Nöbet boyunca olfaktor hislerle beraber
gustatuar bulgular da görülebilmektedir. Gustatuar auranon olfaktor
auralardan daha nadir olduğu bildirilmektedir. Rapor edilen
gustatuar auralar metalik tat şeklinde ve tuhaf bir his olarak tanomlanmo
ştor. Patolojik lezyonlaron temporal lob ile ilişkili olduğu bildirilmiştir.
Bu çaloşmada da “çilek tado, aşoro miktarda çilek yemiş hissi” şeklinde
tarişenen gustatuar auralo epileptik bir olgu sunulmaktadır. Hastanon
6 aylok takibinde, lamotrijin ve karbamazepin tedavisi ile auraso ve nöbetleri
hiç gözlenmedi.

Epileptic auras have been recognized in the literature since antiquity.
Olfactory epileptic auras are very rare, constituting about 0.9% of all
auras, and are typically described as unpleasant experiences. Most
patients specifically likened it to a familiar smell such as that of
burning, sulphur, alcohol, gas, barbecue, peanut butter, or
toothpaste. Gustatory auras might have been experienced along with
olfactory aura during epileptic seizures. Gustatory auras have been
described as metallic or peculiar sensation. The pathological lesions
found in these patients have usually been associated with temporal
lobe. We reported a case with the sensation of strong strawberry
taste. During a follow up period of 6 [month]s, neither aura nor the
seizures occurred when the patient was on a combination therapy of
carbamazepine and lamotrigine.
