Amaç: Bu çalışmada, alkol ve alkol dışı madde bağımlılarında dissosiyatif belirti yaygınlığını ve çocukluk çağı travmaları,
depresyon, anksiyete ve alkol/madde kullanımı ile ilişkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya Nisan 2001 -
Haziran 2001 tarihleri arasında Bakırköy Ruh Sağlığı ve Sinir Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi AMATEM'de (Alkol ve
Madde Araştırma ve Tedavi Merkezi) yatarak tedavi edilen ve DSM-IV tanı ölçütlerine göre alkol bağımlılığı tanısı konmuş 30
hasta ile alkol dışı madde bağımlılığı tanısı konmuş 32 hasta katılmıştır. Olgulara yarı yapılandırılmış sosyodemografik form,
Dissosiyatif Yaşantılar Ölçeği (DYÖ), Çocukluk Çağı Travmaları Ölçeği (ÇÇTÖ), Hamilton Depresyon Derecelendirme Ölçeği
(HDDÖ), Hamilton Anksiyete Ölçeği (HAÖ) ve Michigan Alkolizm Tarama Testi (MATT) uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: DYÖ puan
ortalaması 21.61±19.01 olarak saptanmıştır. DYÖ'de n 15 ve üstü puan alanların oranı %51.6, 30 ve üzeri puan alanların oranı
%29 olarak bulunmuştur. DYÖ'de n 30 puan ve üzeri alanların, 15 puan altında alanlara göre HDDÖ, HAÖ ve ÇÇTÖ'nin duygusal
kötüye kullanımı ve fiziksel ihmali değerlendiren alt ölçeklerinde yüksek puan ortalamaları saptanmıştır. DYÖ puanı, HDDÖ, HAÖ,
ÇÇTÖ'nin duygusal ve fiziksel kötüye kullanım ve fiziksel ihmal puanı ile korelasyon göstermiştir. Bağımlı değişkenin DYÖ olduğu
çoklu regresyon modelinde HAÖ ve fiziksel ihmal puanları yordayıcı olarak belirlenmiştir. Tartışma: Bu çalışmanın sonuçları,
madde bağımlılarının depresyon ve anksiyete de olduğu gibi dissosiyatif belirtiler ve bozukluk açısından da rutin olarak
araştırılması gerektiği görüşünü desteklemektedir. Madde bağımlılarında DYÖ'nin uygulanması hem dissosiyatif bozukluk, hem
de depresyon, anksiyete ve çocukluk çağı travması gibi ilişkili durumların riskini belirlemede faydalı olabilir.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the dissociative symptoms among alcohol and substance dependent patients
and it's relationship with childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, and alcohol/substance use. Methods: The study was
conducted in Bakirköy Mental Health and Norological Disease Education and Treatment Hospital, Alcohol and Substance
Research and Treatment Center in Istanbul between April 2001 and June 2001. The sample consisted of 30 alcohol and 32
substance dependent inpatients according to DSM-IV. All the patients were assessed by using a semi-structured sociodemographic
form, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES), Hamilton Depression Rating
Scale (HDRS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) and Michigan Alcoholism Screning Test (MAST). Results: The mean
number of DES score was found to be 21.61±19.01. The ratio of those who receive 15 points or more from DES was 51.6%,
while those who received 30 or more was 29%. The mean number of HDRS, HAM-A and emotional abuse and physical neglect
sub scales of CTQ was found to be higher among those who receive 30 points or more on DES score than those who receive
less than 15 points on DES. DES score was positively correlated with scores of HDRS, HAM-A, and emotional and physical abuse
and physical neglect subscales of CTQ. When DES score was taken as depended variable in Multiple Linear Regression model,
HAM-A and physical neglect sub scale of CTQ was found to be the factors to determine the CDSS score. Conclusions: The this results of this study supports the notion that as depression and anxiety, dissosiative symptoms and disorder must be evalueted
rutinly among substance dependents. Using DES among substance dependents can be useful for detecting not only risk of
dissociative disorder but also risk of related conditions like depression, anxiety and childhood trauma.
