Attachment which is formed by the mother and baby relationship, does not only provide to eliminate the physical needs of the baby or keep the baby safe. It is also an instinctual and emotional need for the baby. The attachment of the mother and the baby affects the child?s perception of life and his relationships with others. Attachment theory transfers the development of attachment in a biopsychosocial frame. The mother and baby relationship arguments of the classic psychoanalysts are quite more different. In this review, mother and baby relationship and attachment are elucidated from the attachment theory perspective. Besides, the remarks of some other psychoanalysts are included.
