Priapizm peniste herhangi bir cinsel uyarı olmaksızın sürekli oluşan, genellikle de ağrı ile birlikte ortaya çıkan patolojik bir ereksiyon durumudur. Bu durum hemen tedavi edilmediği takdirde penisin ereksiyonunu sağlayan dokularda geri dönüşümsüz hasar meydana gelebilmektedir. Priapizmin etiyolojisinde rol oynayan ilaçlar arasında atipik antipsikotikler de yer almaktadır. Bu yazıda, karşıt olma karşı gelme bozukluğu tanısı nedeniyle risperidon tedavisi kullanan ve ilaç dozu arttırıldığında priapizm gelişen yedi yaşındaki bir olgu sunulmaktadır

Priapism, generally accompanied by pain, is a condition of pathological penile erection that occurs and persists without the experience of simultaneous sexual stimulation. If not treated immediately, priapism might cause irreversible damage to tissues responsible for functional penile erection. In relevant literature, atypical antipsychotics are also listed within medications that might pose a certain amount of risk for the development of this condition, among diverse spectrum of other aetiology . With this paper, we aimed to present the clinical course of a seven year old child that had been prescribed risperidone upon being diagnosed with oppositional defi ant disorder, who developed priapism following an increase in the dosage of the medication.
