Bu çalışmada, şizofrenide ve manide, düşünce süreci bozukluğunun şiddeti ile düşünce içeriği arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı. Çalışma 20 manik, 20 depresif, 20 şizofrenik hasta ve 20 normal denekle gerçekleştirildi. Düşünce süreci bozukluğunu değerlendirmek için konuşmanın yordanabilirliğini ölçen Kapama İşlemi (Close Procedure); düşünce içeriğini çözümlemek için ise bir içerik çözümleme aracı olan Harvard-III/Genel Araştırıcı (Harvard-III/General Inquirer) kullanıldı. Sonuçlar, manide düşünce süreci bozukluğu şiddetinin kişinin konuşma içeriğindeki duygu yüküyle ilişkili olarak arttığını; şizofrenide ise, düşünce süreci bozukluğunun daha şiddetli olmakla birlikte, duygudurumdan bağımsız olduğunu göstermektedir.

In this study, the relationship between speech content and the predictability of speech as an index of structural thought disorder is evaluated. The speech samples of 80 subjects (20 schizophrenic, 20 manic, 20 depressive patients and 20 normal controls) were analyzed through Harvard III/General Inquirer for speech content features and the Close Procedure for quantifying the severity of structural thought disorder. We concluded that the severity of structural thought disorder in manic speech is closely related to the emotional load of the speech; meanwhile the severity of structural thought disorder was higher but independent from the emotional load of the speech content in schizophrenic speech.
