Şizofrenik hastaların izlenmesi ve tedavi ilkeleri önemli bir konudur. Prognozu etkileyen etkenler ve yan etkiler tedavi yaklaşımını yakından etkilemektedir. Şizofreninin akut ve uzun süreli tedavisinde alternatif ilaçlara gereksinim olabilir. Bu yazıda tedavi ilkeleri konusundaki son gelişmeler, ilaca yanıtı etkileyen etmenler, yan etkiler tartışılmıştır.

The follow up of schizophrenic patients and medication principles of treatment are highly important issues. Prognostic factors and side effects greatly effect the treatment approach. In acute and long term treatment of schizophrenia, alternative drugs may be required. In this paper, the recent investigations on the medication principles, factors that effect the treatment and side effects of certain drugs will be reviewed.
