Bu çalışmada, kronik hastalıklı 122 çocuk ve aileleri ile kontrol grubu olarak 25 sağlıklı çocuk ve ailesi karşılaştırıldı. Çocuklarda ve ailelerinde depresif belirtilerle, çocuklarda uyum bozuklukları araştırıldı. Her kronik hasta grubundaki çocuklarda sağlıklı gruba oranla daha fazla uyum bozukluğu, davranış bozuklukları ve nörotik belirtiler saptanmıştır. Kronik hastalığı olan çocukların ailelerindeki depresyon düzeyleri de sağlıklı çocukların ailelerine göre daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, kronik hastalığın çocuk ve aile için ruhsal açıdan bir risk faktörü olduğu anlaşılmış ve benzer literatürle karşılaştırılarak çözüm yolları tartışılmıştır.

In this study 122 children with chronic disease and their families were compared with 25 healthy children and their families as a control group. The depressive symptoms and adjustment disorder of children and the depressive symptoms of the family were examined and compared with the control group. Adjusment disorder, conduct disorder and neurotic symptoms were more common in children with chronic disease than healthy children. In the families of children with chronic disease depression scores were higher than the families of healthy children. As a result, chronic disease is a psychological risk factor both for the child and the family and possible solutions are discussed in comparison with existing literature.
