Amaç: Şiddet, günümüzde küresel bir sorun olmakla birlikte, farklı boyutlarıyla toplumun hemen hemen her kesimini etkileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışma, toplumdaki genç grupların şiddete ve şiddetin farklı boyutlarına yönelik tutumlarını belirlemeye ilişkin bir ölçeğin geliştirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma Kasım 2016-Mart 2017 tarihleri arasında yapılmış ve çalışmaya 270 kadın, 103 erkek üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır (Ort. yaş 21.02±1.65, min=18, max=36). Şiddete Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği geliştirme aşamasında geçerlilik için uzman görüşü ve faktör analizi yöntemleri; güvenilirlik için test-tekrar test analizi, korelasyona dayalı madde analizi ve Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuç: Yapılan analizler sonucunda ölçeğin 52 maddeden ve beş faktörden (şiddetin türleri, şiddeti olağanlaştırma, kadına yönelik şiddet, şiddeti onaylamama, şiddetin farklı boyutları) oluştuğu ve toplam varyansın %40.98’ini açıkladığı bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin bütününe ve alt boyutlarına ilişkin Cronbach alfa değerleri sırasıyla 0.91, 0.87, 0.83, 0.83, 0.73, 0.75’tir. Tartışma: Elli iki maddelik geçerli, güvenilir ve standardize bir form haline getirilen beşli Likert tipindeki bu ölçek, toplumdaki genç grupların şiddete yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla kullanılabilir.

Objective: Nowadays, violence is not only a global problem but also can effect almost every part of the society with its different dimensions. This study has been done with the aim of developing a scale for determining attitudes of young groups in society towards violence and its different dimensions. Methods: Research has been done between the dates of November 2016-March 2017 and two hundred seventy females, one hundred three males participated in the study (Mean age 21.02±1.65, min=18, max=36). While developing Attitude Scale towards Violence, validity has been tested with methods of views of specialists and factor analysis and reliability has been tested with the methods of test-retest methods, item analysis based on correlation and internal consistency analysis of Cronbach’s alpha. Result: As a result of the analyses, it has been found that scale consists of 52 items and five factors (types of the violence, making violence a usual thing, violence towards women, disapproving the violence, different dimensions of the violence) and it explains 40.98% of total variance. Values of Cronbach’s alpha about all of the scale and its subdimensions are respectively 0.91, 0.87, 0.83, 0.83, 0.73, 0.75. Discussion: This five point Likert scale which has been turned into a valid, reliable and standardize form with 52 items can be used in order to determine attitudes of young groups in the society towards violence.
