Günümüzde bireyler ve işletmeler iş ortamlarında yaşanan stresten dolayı sağlık harcamaları, iş gücü devri, tazminatlar gibi çeşitli kayıplara maruz kalmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışmanın amacı iç kontrol odağının problem ve duygu odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışları üzerindeki yordama gücünü belirlemek ve bu süreçte psikolojik sermayenin rolünü tespit etmektir. Bu maksatla, TRB-1 bölgesinde (Malatya, Elazığ, Tunceli, Bingöl) bulunan özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde çalışan zihinsel engelliler öğretmenlerinden (n = 245) veriler toplanmıştır. Yapılan analizler (doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, korelasyon, basit ve aşamalı regresyon analizi, Sobel testi) neticesinde iç kontrol odağının; problem odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışlarını pozitif, duygu odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışlarını ise negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir şekilde yordama gücü olduğu belirlenmiştir. Psikolojik sermayenin ise; problem odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışları üzerinde pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir yordama gücü olduğu görülürken, duygu odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışları üzerinde ise anlamlı bir yordama gücü olmadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca, iç kontrol odağının psikolojik sermaye üzerinde pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir yordama gücü olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bunlara ilave olarak psikolojik sermayenin, iç kontrol odağı ile problem odaklı stresle başa çıkma davranışları arasındaki ilişkide kısmî aracılık rolü oynadığı görülmüştür. Elde edilen sonuçlar literatürdeki çalışmalarla karşılaştırılarak tartışılmıştır.

Nowadays individuals and organizations are exposed to various losses like healthcare expensive, turnover and compensations due to stress in workplace. The aim of this study to determine the prediction power of internal locus of control on problem and emotion focused behaviors to cope with stress and to identify the role of psychological capital during this process. For this purpose data collected by doing survey among the mentally disabled teachers (n = 245) working in special education and rehabilitation centers in TRB-1 region (Malatya, Elazig, Tunceli, Bingöl). As a result of analyses (confirmatory factor analysis, correlation, simple and multiple regression analysis, Sobel’s test) it is seen that internal locus of control predicts problem focused behaviors to cope with stress positively and significantly but emotional focused behaviors to cope with stress negatively and significantly. Psychological capital predicts problem focused behaviors to cope with stress positively and significantly whereas it has no significant predictive power on emotional focused behaviors to cope with stress. Also, internal locus of control has positive and significant prediction on psychological capital. In addition to all, psychological capital has partial mediating role between internal locus of control and problem focused behaviors to cope with stress. The results that obtained are discussed by comparing the other studies in the literature.
