Amaç: Çalışma, üniversite öğrencilerinde sigara, alkol, madde deneyimi ve kullanım bozukluğu ile cinsiyet, fakülte, sınıf, yaşam ortamı, ailedeki madde kullanımı arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmek üzere tasarlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma, kesitsel alan çalışmasıdır ve örneklem, fakülte ve sınıf düzeyine göre tasarlanmış tabakalandırılmış örneklem metoduna göre seçilmiştir. Uygulama, sınıf ortamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Demografik veri formu, Fagerström Nikotin Bağımlılığı Testi, Alkol Kullanım Bozuklukları Tanıma Testi kullanılmıştır. Istatistiksel değerlendirmede, frekans testleri, Pearson ki-kare, Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis ve Spearman korelasyon testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya, 1522 öğrenci katılmıştır. Erkeklerde sigara, alkol, madde deneyimi ve tütün ile alkol kullanım bozukluğu kadınlara göre daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Esrar (%12.5), ekstazi (%2), kokain (%0.6) ve eroin (%0.1) sıklıkla kullanılan yasadışı maddelerdir. Sigara, alkol, madde deneyimi, alkol kullanım bozukluğu ile sınıf, fakülte, yaşam ortamı ve ailesel madde kullanımı arasında ilişki bulunmuştur. Tütün kullanım bozukluğu ile cinsiyet dışındaki diğer faktörler arasında ilişki bulunmamıştır. Sonuç: Üniversite öğrencileri arasında, erkek olma, üst sınıflarda okuma, ailesel madde kullanımı, kişinin madde deneyimi ve bağımlılığında artışa yol açabilmektedir. Aile yanında ya da yurtta kalma, sağlık bilimlerini temsil eden fakültelerde okuma ise koruyucu faktörler olarak değerlendirilebilir. Tütün kullanım bozukluğu ile ilgili bulgular, sigara kullanmak ile bağımlı olmanın gençler arasında ayırıcı özelliği olmadığını göstermiştir.

Objective: This study was design to evaluate the relationship between cigarette, alcohol, substance experience and use disorders and gender, faculty, class, living environment, substance use of families among university students. Method: The research was cross-sectional area study and sample were selected stratified sampling method was designated according to faculty and class level. Application was carried out in classroom. Demographic data form, Fagerström Nicotine Test for Dependence and Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test were used. Frequency tests, Pearson chi-square, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis and Spearman correlation tests were used in statistical evaluation. Results: 1522 students were attended the survey. Cigarette, alcohol, substance experience and tobacco, alcohol disorders among men found higher than in women. Cannabis (12.5%), ecstasy (MDMA) (2%), cocaine (0.6%) and heroin (0.1%) were mostly used illegal drugs. There was a relationship between cigarette, alcohol, substance experience, alcohol use disorders and class, faculty, living environment and familial substance use. There was no association found between any factors except gender and tobacco use disorder. Conclusion: Among university students, being a male, studying in upper classes and having familial drug use can lead to increase of experience and addicted to substances of a person. Staying with own family or at a dorm, reading in faculties representing the health sciences can be considered as protective factors. The findings of tobacco use disorder have showed that using or being addicted to cigarette is not a distinctive feature among young smokers.
