Şizofren hastaların %35-65’inde tedaviye uyum sorunları görülmekte, çeşitli nedenlerle düzenli ilaç kullanmamaktadırlar. Araştırmada GATA Psikiyatri Kliniğine yatırılan ve düzenli ilaç almadığı saptanan şizofreni hastalarının tedavilerini aksatma nedenlerinin ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, 58 olguya tedavinin aksatılmasına neden olan faktörleri sorgulamaya yönelik yarı yapılandırılmış anket formu uygulanmıştır. En sık tedaviyi sonlandırma nedenleri ailenin ya da hastanın hastalık ve tedavi ile ilgili yetersiz bilgiye sahip olması (%31.0), hastanın kontrollere gitmemesi veya çağrılmaması (%29.3) ve iyileştiğini düşünerek ilacını kesme (%22.4) olarak saptanmıştır. Bu nedenlerin çoğunun kontrol altına alınabilir özellikte olması dikkat çekici bulunmuştur.

There are problems of compliance in 35-65% of schizophrenic patients who are treated by antipyschotic medication. In this study, in order to assess various reasons for discontinuation of the treatment, a semi structured questionnaire was administered to 58 schizophrenic patiets with evident noncompliance. The most frequent causes were, patient’s and family member’s lack of information about the nature of the illness and the treatment, irregularity in periodic follow-up examinations and patients’s misbelief that he/she has recovered. Intervention to these factors may improve the compliance.
