İnsan eliyle oluşturulan veya doğal yolla oluşan felaketleri takiben ortaya çıkabilen Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğu (TSSB) son yıllarda psikiyatri alanında çalışan profesyonellerin ilgi odağı durumuna gelmiştir. Bu bozukluğun oluşumu, gidişi, tedavisi ve prognozu ile ilgili bilgilerin önemli bir kısmı, travmaya uğramış erişkinlerle yapılan çalışmaların sonuçlarından elde edilmiştir. Çocuk ve ergen travma kurbanları ile yapılan çalışmaların sayısı oldukça azdır. Bu yazıda TSSB’nun çocuk ve ergenlerdeki seyri ile ilgili sınırlı bilgilerin gözden geçirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), that might emerge as a result of exposure to a recognizable man made or natural disaster has recently been the focus of attention of professionals working in the area of psychiatry. Most of the information available on the onset, course, treatment and prognosis of the disorder comes from the results of studies executed with the traumatized adult population. Studies made with the child and adolescent victims of trauma are far less common. This paper aims to review the available limited information on the course of PTSD in children and adolescents.
