Pediatrik endokrin ve metabolik hastalıklar, patolojik değişiklikler sonucu oluşan, normalden sapma veya bozukluk gösterip kalıcı yetersizliklere neden olabilen, hastanın rehabilitasyonu için özel eğitim gerektiren, uzun süre boyunca bakım, gözetim ve denetim gerektireceği beklenen bir durum olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu nedenle çocuğun yaşam kalitesini etkileyerek çocuk ve aile için emosyonel yük oluşturmaktadır. Bu bölümde çocuk ve ergende görülen belli başlı endokrin ve metabolik hastalıklar, klinik özellikleri, psikiyatrik yönleri ve tedavi modaliteleri açısından ele alınacaktır.

Pediatric endocrine and metabolic diseases defined as situations that occur as a result of pathological changes, can cause deficieny by exposing normal deviation and disorder, require sepecial education fort he patient?s rehabilitation and supposed to require longterm care, surveillance and control. For these reasons it effect the child?s life quality and creates an emotional burden fort he child and the family. In this section, major endocrine and metabolic diseases frequently seen in child and adolescents will be discussed with clinical features, psychiatric aspects and treatment modalities.
