Hekimlerde iş doyumu ve tükenmişlik düzeyi

Amaç: Malatya il merkezinde çalışan hekimlerin iş doyumu (İD) ve tükenmişlik düzeylerinin bazı sosyodemografik değişkenlerle ilişkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Çalışmaya katılan 384 hekimden veriler, Sosyodemografik Veri Toplama Formu, Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği (MTÖ) ve İş Doyumu Ölçeği (İDÖ) kullanılarak toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: İD düzeyleri öğretim görevlisi/üyesi hekimlerde ve meslekte çalışma süresi 6-10 yıl ve üzerinde olanlarda daha yüksek saptanmıştır. Kadınların duyarsızlaşma (DYS) ve kişisel başarı (KB) düzeyleri daha düşük bulunmuştur. Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Sınavı’nda (ÖSYS) ilk tercihi tıp fakültesi olanların duygusal tükenme (DT) ve DYS düzeyleri daha düşük, KB düzeyleri ise daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Günlük çalışma süresi 9 saat ve üzerinde olanların DT, DYS ve KB düzeyleri ile hekimlikle ilgili ek işi olanların DT ve DYS düzeyleri daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Araştırma görevlisi ve uzman hekimlerin DT ve DYS düzeyleri yüksek bulunmuştur.
Sonuç: Meslekte bilgi ve beceri attıkça iş doyumu artmaktadır. Çalışma koşullarının hekimin günlük çalışma süresini 9 saatin üstüne geçmeyecek şekilde düzenlenmesi ve hekime ek iş yapma gereksinimi yaratmayacak yaşam standartlarını sunacak bir ücret politikası uygulanması tükenmeyi azaltacak gibi görünmektedir
Job Satisfaction and Burnout Levels of Physicians
Objective: In this study, some sociodemographic variables related to physician’s job satisfaction and burnout levels have been investigated.
Method: Our sample consisted of 384 physicians working in Malatya. All data have been collected via sociodemographic data form, Maslach Burnout Inventory, and Job Satisfaction Inventory.
Results: Job satisfaction levels of academicians and physicians working more than 6 [year]s were significantly greater. Women’s depersonalization and personal accomplishment (PA) levels were significantly lower. Emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalization (DP) levels of the doctors who had chosen medical faculty as the first preference in the University Entrance Exam were significantly less but PA level was significantly higher. The physicians who were working more than 9 hours in a day had higher EE, DP and PA levels. EE and DP levels were higher among residents and specialists. The EE and DP levels of the doctors who had extra-work related with medicine were significantly higher. The physicians who have worked for a period of 6 to 10 [year]s had less EE and the physicians who have worked less than 5 [year]s had greater DP.
Conclusion: The professional satisfaction increases with the increasing professional knowledge and experience. To decrease the burnout, it seems necessary to reform working conditions so that the doctor’s daily working time does not exceed 9 hours and to provide a salary for a standart life so that there will be no need for extra-work.
