Cinsel istismara uğrayan çocuklarda ciddi ruhsal bozuklukların geliştiği bilinmektedir. Bunun yanı sıra birçok ülkede uygulanan cinsel istismarda bulunan suça sürüklenen çocuklara yönelik rehabilite edici tedavi basamaklarının yetersiz olduğu görülmektedir. Günümüzde çocuk cezaevlerinin kapatılması girişimleri veya cezaevlerinde suça sürüklenen çocukların travmatik sayılabilecek durumlara uğramaları ile ilgili haberler dikkat çekmektedir. Gençlere uygulanacak tedavi programları oluşturmak, ailelerin tedaviye katılması ve gençlerin yeniden topluma kazandırılması için gerekli eğitim, sosyal destek ve meslek edindirme programları geliştirmek günümüzde önemli gereksinmeler durumuna gelmiştir. Toplumun güvenliği açısından, uzun süre tedavi ve izleme sağlanması gerekir. Bu olgumuzda cinsel istismarda bulunan çocukların ruhsal süreçlerinin ve uygun rehabilite edici koşulların nasıl olması gerektiği tartışılmıştır.

It is well known that children exposed to sexual abuse tend to severe mental disorders, are not enough to treat those children. Prisons for children are said to be shut for some reasons, or there are some news that in those prisons some children are exposed to maltreatment or sexual abuse. To provide treatment programs, including families into treatments and acculturation of youth to the society are the focus points to be improved; social support and employment programs will enable improvements in those population. For the sake of population long term treatments and follow up studies are necessary applications. In our case we have discussed how the mental health of these children exposed to sexual abuse can be improved and to provide rehabilitation process. Furthermore the treatment centers used for the children exposed to sexual abuse or pushed to crimes.
