Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluk(OKB) görece yaygın olan ancak tedaviye direncin sık olması nedeniyle kronikleşme olasılığı yüksek olan bir hastalıktır. Etiyolojisi hakkında bir takım teoriler öne sürülmüşse de patofizyolojisi tam olarak aydınlatılabilmiş değildir. Yapılan çalışmalarda biyokimyasal açıdan birçok yeni veri elde edilmiştir. Bu gözden geçirme makalesinde OKB ile biyokimyasal belirteçlerin ilişkisinin araştırıldığı klinik araştırmalar incelenmiştir. Nörotransmitter sistemleri, hormonlar, nörotrofik faktörler, immun sistem ve oksidatif stresin OKB'de rolü gözden geçirilmiştir.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a relatively common disease and highly chronic due to resistance to treatment. Although a number of theories have been proposed about the pathophysiology, etiology has not been fully elucidated. Many new data were obtained in studies of the biochemical point of view. This article is reviewing the clinical trials in which the relationship between OCD and biochemical markers was investigetad. The role of neurotransmitter systems, neuropeptides, neurotrophic factors, immune system and oxidative stress in OCD pathogenezis and etiology is reviewed.
