Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı kronik böbrek yetmezliği (KBY) nedeniyle hemodiyaliz tedavisi gören hastalardaki depresyon, anksiyete ve yaşam kalitesi üzerine destekleyici izlem ve moklobemidin etkisinin çift kör plasebo kontrollü olarak incelemektir. Yöntem: Hemodiyalize giren 45 KBY'li hastaya Hamilton Depresyon Ölçeği, Beck Depresyon Ölçeği, Hamilton Anksiyete Ölçeği, Durumluk-Süreklilik Kaygı Envanteri ve Depresyonda Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği verilmiştir. Depresyonu olan hastaların tümüne destekleyici psikoterapi uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca hastalar rastgele iki gruba ayrılıp çift kör olarak bir gruba moklobemid, diğerine plasebo verilmiştir. Altı haftalık bir sürenin sonunda hastalara aynı ölçekler tekrar verilmiştir. Bulgular: İzlemin etkisi ile depresyon skorlarında, hastaneye yatış ve acil servise başvurma sayısında belirgin düşme, yaşam kalitesinde ise düzelme saptanmıştır. Ayrıca özellikle moklobemid anksiyete puanları ve tıbbi sorun sayısında azalma oluşturmuştur. Tartışma: Sonuçlar literatür ışığı altında tartışılmıştır.

Objective: This study aimed examining the effects of psychotherapeutic approach and moclobemide on depression, anxiety and quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) receiving hemodialysis. Method: 45 patients with CRF receiving hemodialysis were applied Hamilton Depression Scale, Beck Depression Scale, Hamilton Anxiety Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and Quality of Life in Depression Rating Scale. All of depressive patients were supported psychotherapeutically and randomizely half of them were given moclobemide by a double-blind placebocontrolled study. At the end of six weeks time, all the scales were reapplied. Results: The effect of treatment on depression and anxiety scores was significant and decreased frequencies of hospitalisation and resorts to the emergency service as well as increasing the quality of life. Moreover especially moclobemide decreased anxiety scores and medical problems. Conclusion: Results were disscussed with the literature results.
