Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Locke ve Wallace tarafından geliştirilen Evlilikte Uyum Ölçeği-EUÖ (MaritalAdjustment Test)' nin evli kişiler için güvenirlik ve geçerliğini saptamaktır. Yöntem: Evli 149 kadın ve evli 162 erkeğe Evlilikte Uyum Ölçeği uygulanmış ve ölçüt-bağımlı geçerlik için Kişilerarası İlişkiler Ölçeği ile İlişkilerde Yükleme Ölçeği'nden yararlanılmıştır. Bulgular: İç tutarlık, iki yarım test, test-tekrar test, madde analizi, faktör yapısı, ölçüt-bağımlı geçerlik analizleri yapılmış ve EUÖ'nin güvenilir ve geçerli olduğu bulunmuştur. Hunt'ın ve Freeston ile Plechaty' nin alternatif puanlama sistemleri değerlendirilmiş ve kesim noktası hesaplanmıştır. Tartışma: Yaklaşık 30 yıldır kullanılan ölçeğin, güvenilir ve geçerli olduğu belirlenmiş, evlilik uyumunu ölçen kısa ve hızlı bir ölçek olarak Türk kültürüne kazandırılmıştır:

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of The Marital Adjustment Test-MAT for married people developed by Locke and Wallace. Method: The Marital Adjustment Test was administered to 149 married women and 162 married men and The Interpersonal Relationship Test and The Rela-tionship Attribution Measure were used for the criterion-related validity. Results: The analysis (internal reliability, split-half, test-retest stability, item analyses, factor structure, criterion-related validity) revealed that the MAT was a reliable and valid instrument for Turkish samples. The data were analiyzed according to the alternative scoring systems proposed by Hunt and Freeston and Plechaty and a cut-score was identified. Conclusion: The test which has been in use for over 30 years was identified as a reliable and a valid instrument. Thus, the test can be used in Turkish as a short and rapid measure of marital adjustment.
