In this article, the termination process of group psychotherapy is discussed. Termination may be observed not only in the beginning, middle, or end phases of group, but in any of the phases of the therapy. Premature, forced, or circumstantial terminations are generally associated with a failure in reaching the therapeutic goals. However, there may also be types of planned terminations in which both the therapist and the patient mutually agree in the full fillment of the therapeutic goals. It is apparent that certain problems will have to befaced in both of these situations.
