Resistance can be described as a reaction to the effects of one or more forces within a system. The resistances that emerge in group psyhotherapy are as many as those in individual psychotherapy. Although they are similar in some way, group life and setting add some differentfeatures to the ones emerging in groups. In this article, examples of resistances in group psychotherapy are reviewed under two titles as member to member and member to leader resistances. Also the process of working through which can be described as the analysis of resistance, and the factors which prevent the patient to obtain a permanent insight, and the interventions serving to eradicate these factors will be discussed.
