Yetişme tarzları, içinde bulundukları sosyal ve ekonomik koşullar nedeniyle kuşakların kişisel özellikleri ve beklentileri arasında önemli farklılıklar gözlenebilir. Geçmişte azla yetinen, itaatkâr, otoriteyi sorgusuz sualsiz kabul eden bireylerin yerine daha bilgili, otoriteyi sorgulayan ve ona başkaldıran yeni bir kuşağın varlığından söz edilebilir. Bireysel ve toplumsal değişimlerin bir sonucu olarak tek doğru kabul edilen akademik değerler tartışılır hale gelebilir. Bu yorum yazısında eleştirel pedagoji kapsamında psikiyatride yeni neslin akademik terbiyesi ele alınmaya çalışıldı.

Significant differences can be observed among generations due to changes in their upbringing styles, socioal and economic conditions. It may be mentioned a new generation questioning the authority and rebel against them. They are also wiser than previous generation accepting unquestioningly the authority. They are more submissive and abstemious. The academic values accepting absolutely true will be discussed as a result of personal and social changes.
