Bilimsel bir araştırmanın tamamlanması ancak yayımlanması ile gerçekleşir. Böylece araştırmayla elde edilen sonuçlar bilim dünyasına sunulur ve paylaşılır. Bu nedenle makalenin yayımlanması süreci önemli bir aşamadır.

Araştırmayı bir yada birden fazla kişi yapmış olabilir. Eğer araştırma birden fazla kişi tarafından yapılmışsa, bunların makale yazarı olarak adları, katkı payındaki önceliklerine göre sıralanmalıdır. Yazar olmaya yetmeyen katkılar yapan birey ve kuruluşlara, makalenin sonunda yer verilen yazar notlarında teşekkür edilmelidir.

Bu çalışmada fikir ve sanat eseri sahiplerinin yasal sorumlulukları, yayınlarda dikkat edilmesi gereken noktalar ve yaptırımlar belirtilmiş, iç hukukumuzdaki düzenlemeler vurgulanarak ilgili çevrelerin dikkatini çekmek amaçlanmıştır.
