Çalışmada, eğitilebilir düzeyde zihinsel özürlü bireylerin bir meslek edinmesinde etkili olan ve mesleki eğitim ile ailenin dışında üçüncü boyutu oluşturan işyeri sahiplerinin bu konuya karşı tutumları, tutumlarının nedenleri ve çalıştırma koşulları hakkındaki düşünceleri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın deneklerini Ankara ilinde bulunan 16 küçük marangoz atölyesi, 17 bakkal veya küçük süpermarket, 15 küçük konfeksiyon mağazasının sahipleri oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bir anket araç olarak kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen bulgularda, olumlu ve olumsuz cevaplar ve nedenlerinin yüzdelik değerleri açısından bakıldığında, üç ayrı meslek grubu arasında fark olmadığı, ancak olumsuz cevap verenlerin sayısının daha fazla olduğu saptanmıştır. Olumlu cevap veren işyeri sahiplerinin özürlü bireylerin topluma kazandırılmasına katkıda bulunma, olumsuz cevap veren işyeri sahiplerinin ise özürlü bireyin sorumluluğunu almak istememe nedenlerini işaretledikleri belirlenmiştir. Özürlü bireyleri işyerinde çalıştırmak isteyen işyeri sahiplerinin sorumluluğu ailenin alması koşuluyla sigortalı ve maaşlı çalıştırma koşullarını işaretledikleri saptanmıştır.

The thougths and attitudes, of small business owners toward having educatible mentally retarded children at work were examined. The employers were all chosen randomly from the carpenters, small supermarkets and textile ateliers in Ankara for the experiment. In this research, a questionnaire with a deep scope having negative and positive attitudes of employers the reasons of these attitudes and working conditions was used . The employers were all informed individually about the abilities of educatible mentally retarded individuals after having had all required inquiries made by reseachers within the scope of questionnaire. As a result, It is indicated that the number of negative responses were higher than positive ones though there was no difference in the three different professional groups. It was seen that while the employers with positive responses contributed those retailed individuals to take their places in the society, the other group with negative response had no intention of taking responsibility of retailed ones. The employers with positive responses all agreed with the conditions of insurance and payment systems only if the families took the responsibility.
