Wechsler Bellek Ölçeği Geliştirilmiş Formunun Test-Tekrar Test Güvenirliği

Wecshler Bellek Ölçeği Geliştirilmiş Formu (WMS-R), belleği bilinen temel yönleriyle ölçmesi ve beynin temporal ve hipokampal bölge işlevlerini yansıtması nedeniyle, Türk kültürü için standardizasyonu yapılan BİLNOT Bataryası kapsamına alınmış olan yedi testten biridir. Mevcut çalışmanın amacı, BİLNOT Bataryasındaki testlere ilişkin standardizasyon çalışmaları kapsamında, ' WMS-R'nin test-tekrar test güvenirliğini hesaplamaktır. Çalışmalar 18-44 yaş aralığında iki eğitim düzeyinden (5-11 yıl, 12 yıl ve üstü) 54 denek (30 erkek, 24 kadın) üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Güvenirlik çalışmalarında WMS-R'nin BİLNOT Bataryası kapsamında geliştirilmiş ve norm değerleri saptanmış Türkçe formu kullanılmıştır. 13 alttestten oluşan ve uygulama süresi yaklaşık 45 dakika olan WMS-R, deneklere 4 ile 5 hafta arayla iki kez uygulanmıştır. İki uygulama arasında Pearson Momentler Çarpımı tekniği kullanılarak hesaplanan korelasyon katsayıları anlamlı bulunmuştur. Korelasyon katsayıları .38- .87 arasında değişmiştir; orijinal WMS-R'de de katsayılar .41-.88 arasında değişmektedir. Z transformasyonu kullanılarak sözel alttest puanları için hesaplanmış olan korelasyon katsayılarının ortalaması, şekilleri içeren görsel alttestler için hesaplanandan (sırasıyla, .80 ve .54); anlık bellek korelasyon ortalaması, gecikmeli bellek için olandan (sırasıyla. .74 ve .66) daha yüksek bulunmuştur. WMS-R'nin Türkçe formu için test-tekrar test tekniğiyle hesaplanmış olan güvenirlik katsayıları, bu formun, ülkemiz bireylerinde belleği ölçmede güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olarak kullanılabileceğini ortaya koymuştur.
Test-Retest Reliability of the Turkish Standardization of Wechsler Memory Scale-Revised
Wechsler Memory Scale- Revised (WMS-R) is a psychometric tool that measures the basic aspects of memory, thus reflecting mainly the functions of the temporal lobe and hippocampal formation. Owing to these, WMS-R has been included in the BILNOT Battery. This Battery includes seven tests that have been standardized for the Turkish culture. The aim of the present study was to determine the reliability of the Turkish form of WMS-R by the test-retest technicque. The study was conducted on 30 men and 24 women from the age range of 18-44 years and from two levels of education (5-11 years, 12 years or more). The subtests of the Turkish form of the WMS-R was administered in its Standard order in approximately 45 minutes. The administration was repeated 4 to 5 weeks later. Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficients calculated between the two testings were found significant. The coefficients ranged between .38-, 87; the range was .41-. 88 in the original WMS-R. The mean correlation coefficients were calculated by transforming the values to z scores. The mean correlation coefficients for the verbal scores were higher than those for the figural/visual scores (.80 and .54, respectively); and those from the immediate recall scores were higher than those for the delayed recail scores (.74 and .66 respectively).The test-retest reliability coefficients of the Turkish form of the WMS-R shows that the test can be reliably used in Turkish samples in the assessment of memory capacity.
