Bu çalışmanın amacı, özel bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışmakta olan sağlık personelinde, stresle ilişkili günlük olaylar, stres belirtileri, iş doyumu ve strese yatkınlık ilişkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla Stres Belirtileri Ölçeği, Strese Yatkınlık Ölçeği, İş Doyumu Ölçeği, ve Stres Oluşturucu Faktörler Skalası hastanede görevli hekim, hemşire ve diğer sağlık personelinden oluşan 266 kişilik bir örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. Yapılan çeşitli analizler sonucunda stres belirtileri ve iş doyumu açısından bakıldığında hemşirelerin en sorunlu grup olarak belirdiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca bireylerin çalıştıkları servis açısından bakıldığında, çalıştığı servisten bağımsız olarak, hastalarla doğrudan ilişkili olan personelin stres belirtileri, idari personel ve yardımcı personelinkinden daha yüksek çıkmıştır. İş doyumunu yordayan en önemli değişkenin işletme politikaları olduğu, ücretin ise sıralamada daha alt sıralarda yer aldığı gözlenmiştir. Bulgular literatür ile tutarlıdır.

The aim of this research is to study a group of health service personnel in a private university hospital, in terms of their job satisfaction, stress related daily events, stress symptoms and vulnerability level. The sample, consisted of 266 physicians, nurses and other staff were tested on four different scales (a job satisfaction scale, a stress- related events scale, a stress- symptom scale, and a vulnerability scale). Comparisons among different professional groups, identified nurses as the most vulnerable group to stress with greatest amount of distress and related symptoms. It was also found that independent of their work unit/department those who were in contact with the patients had significantly more stress related symptoms than those who were not in direct contact with the patients. Administrative policy was the most important predictor of job satisfaction, whereas salary was a relatively less important variable in predicting job satisfaction. The results were consistent with those reported in the literature.
