Birçok psikiyatrik bozukluk gibi travma sonrası stres bozukluğu (TSSB) da genetik faktörlerden etkilenmektedir. TSSB için artmış riske yol açan genetik faktörlerin belirlenmesi TSSB?nin patofizyolojisini anlamamızı kolaylaştıracak ve tedavi seçeneklerini artıracaktır. Bu yazıda TSSB gelişimi ile ilişkili yapılmış olan dopaminerjik sistem, serotonerjik sistem ve hipotalamus-hipofizadrenal aks ile ilgili aday gen çalışmaları; genom çaplı ilişkilendirme çalışmaları, gen-çevre etkileşimleri, çocukluk çağı travmalarının genetiğe etkisi ve epigenetik faktörler gözden geçirilecektir.

As with many psychiatric disorders, the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is influenced by genetic factors. Identifying the genetic factors leading to increased risk for PTSD will enhance our ability to understand the pathophysiology of PTSD development. Furthermore, knowledge on genetic pathways to TSSB would enhance treatment options. This review will examine the candidate gene studies related to dopaminergic system, serotenergic systemand HPA axis; genome wide association studies, gene-environment interactions, impact of childhoodtraumas on genetics and epigenetic factors that are thought to be related with PTSD development.
