Hekimlerde sıkça görülen tükenmişlik sendromunun tıp eğitimi ya da yoğun asistan hekimlik eğitimi sırasında ortaya çıktığı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada aile hekimliği asistan hekimleri arasındaki tükenmişlik düzeyi ve tükenmişliğin sosyodemografik ve eğitim ile ilgili değişkenlerle ilişkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ankara’da bulunan eğitim hastanelerinde ihtisas eğitimi gören aile hekimliği asistanlarına Şubat 1998 tarihinde anket uygulanmıştır. Anket demografik özellikler, çalışma koşulları, alışkanlıklar ve boş zaman uğraşısı ile ilgili 14 soru içermekteydi. Ankete Türkçe’ye uyarlanmış Maslach Tükenmişlik Envanteri de eklenmiştir. Bekar bireylerin duygusal tükenme (dt) ve duyarsızlaşma (dysz) puanları daha yüksek iken, evlilerin kişisel başarı (kb) puanları daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Daha kısa mesleki çalışma süresine sahip asistanların dt ve dysz puanları yüksek ve kb puanları düşük bulunmuştur. Bir bireyde tükenmişliğin gelişmesi işe karşı olan tutumunu etkilemekte ve hastalara karşı sahip olduğu duyguları tüketmektedir.

It is suggested that burnout process begins in medical school where emotional requirements are often ignored or in high-pressure structure residency programs. The aim of this study is to examine the occurrence of three dimensions of burnout syndrome (emotional exhaustion [ee], depersonalization [dp], and personal accomplishment [pa]) among family medicine residents and the relationship of burnout to socio-demographic and educational factors. A written questionnaire was developed and distributed to family medicine residents working in Ankara in February 1998. The questionnaire contained, 14 questions, concerning demographics, work conditions, habits, free time usage. An optional part contained an instrument proven valid, reliable for Turkish Health Workers as measure for job-related burnout. Single residents had higher ee and dp scores, married residents had higher pa scores. Residents with shorter duration of work experience had higher ee, dp and lower pa scores. Detrimental effects increase psychosomatic complaints, negative affective states, work-withdrawing behaviours and decreases positive affective states.
