Meme Kanseri Nedeni ile Meme Koruyucu Cerrahi Geçirmiş Kadınlarla Mastektomi Operasyonu Geçirmiş Kadınlar Arasında Benlik Saygısı, Beden Algısı, Cinsel Doyum ve Cinsel Yaşantıların Karşılaştırılması

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, meme kanseri tanısı alan kadınlara uygulanan cerrahi operasyon tipinin beden algısı, benlik saygısı, cinsel doyum ve yaşantıları üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesidir.
Yöntem: Çalışmanın örneklemini Radyasyon Onkolojisi Anabilim Dalı arşivinden taranan ardışık 50 meme kanseri tanısı almış kadın hasta oluşturmaktadır. Hastaların %50’sine total mastektomi, %50’sine ise koruyucu meme cerrahisi uygulanmıştır. Araç olarak; Sosyo-demografik Bilgi Formu, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği (RBSÖ), Vücut Algısı Ölçeği (VAÖ), Golombok-Rust Cinsel Doyum Ölçeği (GRCDÖ) ve Arizona Cinsel Yaşantılar Ölçeği (ACYÖ) kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Örneklem grubunun yaş ortalaması 51,18±9,93’tü. Meme koruyucu cerrahi uygulanan kadınlarla, total mastektomi uygulanan kadınlardan oluşan iki grubun beden algıları ve cinsel yaşantı ölçek skorları istatiksel olarak önemli farklılık göstermiştir. Benlik saygısında ise farklılık gözlenmemiştir.
Sonuç: Meme koruyucu cerrahinin, total mastektomiye göre beden algısı ve cinsel işlevler açısından daha avantajlı olduğu gösterilmiştir. Mastektominin beden algısı ve cinsel işlevleri olumsuz etkileyebileceği belirlenmiştir.
Comparison of self esteem, body image, sexual satisfaction and sexual experiences between women who had mastectomy or breast conserving surgery for breast carcinoma
Objectives: The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of surgery operation types on body image, self esteem, sexual satisfaction and sexual experiences in women with breast cancer.
Methods: The sample of this research included 50 women patients from the Radiation Oncology archive scanning who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. 50% of patients had been treated with modified radical mastectomy operation while 50% had breast conserving surgery. Demographic Information Form, Rosenberg’s Self Esteem Scale (RSES), Golombok Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale (GRISS), Arizona Sexual Experiences (ASEX) and Body Cathexis Scale (BIS) were administrated.
Results: The mean age of sample was 51,18±9,93. Between two groups, the women who had breast conserving surgery and the women who had modified radical mastectomy, has statistically significant differences about body image and sexual experiences scale scores. There was no statistically significant differences on self esteem.
Conclusion: The results shows that breast conserving surgery was more advanatageous regarding body image and sexual functions, compared to total mastectomy. It was determined that total mastectomy was associated with a negative body image and worse sexual functioning.
