Bu araştırmanın iki amacı vardır. Birincisi, mesleki eğitim fakültesindeki kız ve teknik eğitim fakültesindeki erkek öğretmen adaylarının psikolojik ihtiyaç örüntülerini karşılaştırmaktır. İkincisi, meslek yüksekokullarındaki kız ve erkek öğrencilerin psikolojik ihtiyaç örüntülerini karşılaştırmaktır. Araştırmaya mesleki eğitim fakültesinden 117 kız, teknik eğitim fakültesinden 120 erkek ve meslek yüksekokullarından 122 kız ile 121 erkek öğrenci katıldı. Psikolojik ihtiyaçları değerlendirmek için Psikolojik ihtiyaçlar Listesi kullanıldı. Araştırmanın sonuçları mesleki eğitim fakültesindeki kız ve teknik eğitim fakültesindeki erkek öğretmen adaylarının psikolojik ihtiyaç örüntülerinin meslek dersleri öğretmenliğinin faaliyetleriyle tutarlı olduğunu gösterdi. Kız ve erkek öğretmen adaylarının ihtiyaç hiyerarşileri arasında farklılıklar vardı. Bunlara ilaveten, sonuçlar meslek yüksekokullarındaki kız ve erkek öğrencilerin psikolojik ihtiyaç örüntülerinin mesleklerinin faaliyetlerinden daha çok meslek dersleri öğretmenliklerinin faaliyetleriyle tutarlı olduğunu gösterdi. Meslek yüksekokullarındaki kız ve erkek öğrencilerin ihtiyaç hiyerarşileri arasında da farklılıklar vardı. Araştırmanın sonuçlarının meslek rehberliği ve danışmanlığımla ve personel seçiminde kullanılabileceği önerildi.

There were two purposes of the present study. The first was to compare the patterns of the psychological needs of the teacher candidates at the faculties of vocational and technical education. The second was to compare the pattems of psychological needs of the female and male students at the vocatioruil schools of higher education. 480 undergraduate students participated in this study. Among the students, 117 female teacher candidates were froin the faculty of vocational education, 120 males from the faculty of technical education, 122 females and 121 males from the vocational high schools. To measure the psychological needs, the Psychological Needs List, developed for this study, was used. The findings indicated that there were similarities between the pattems of the psychological needs of the female teacher candidates at the faculty of the vocational education and the male teacher candidates at the faculty of technical education. The pattem of the psychological needs aml vocational activities of female and male candidates were consistent. The findings also showed that there were similarities between the pat- terns of the psychological needs of the female and male students at the vocational high schools. In addition, it was found that the patterns of the psychological needs of female and male students were more consistent with the vocational teacher activities than with their vocational activities. It is suggested that the results of the present study may be used in career counseling and employee selection.
