Amaç: Bu yazıda çocuk ve ergen psikiyatrisindeki ketiapin kullanımına ilişkin çalışmaların gözden geçirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çocuk ve ergenlerde ketiapinin klinik kullanımı, etkinliği ve yan etkileri ile ilgili çalışmalar taranmıştır. Sonuçlar: Çocuk ve ergenlerde ketiapin Tourette sendromu, psikotik bozukluk, bipolar bozukluk ve otizmin tedavisinde kullanılmıştır. Tartışma: Ketiapinin gençlerde iyi tolere edilebilmesi, yararlı etkilerinin olduğunun gösterilmesinden dolayı çocuk ve ergenlerde umut vaad eden ajan olduğu görülmektedir. Destekleyici bulgulara rağmen çalışmaların sayısı sınırlıdır, metodolojisinde sınırlılıklar vardır.

Objective: This paper aims to review the reports of quetiapine usage in child and adolescent psychiatry. Method: Studies about the clinical usage, effectiveness and the side effects of quetiapine in children and adolescents are reviewed in this paper. Result: Quetiapine has been used to treat psychotic disorder, Tourette's syndrome, bipolar disorder and autism in children and adolescents. Discussion: Because quetiapine appears to be a well tolerated agent in children and adolescents with salutary effects, it seems to be a promising agent for the young population. Despite supportive findings, the studies are small in number and some have methodological limitations.
