Sosyal anksiyete bozukluğunun (SAB) en önemli özelliği kişinin diğer insanlar tarafından incelenebileceği sosyal durumlara karşı belirgin ya da yoğun, anksiyete ya da korku hissetmesidir. SAB (Sosyal Fobi) bir tanısal kategori olarak ilk defa Mental Bozuklukların Tanısal ve Sayımsal El Kitabının Üçüncü Baskısında (DSM-III) yer almıştır. DSM-III'ten DSM-V'e kadar SAB tanısında önemli değişiklikler yapılmıştır. Örneğin SAB DSM IV'de alternatif bir isimken DSM-V'te birincil isim haline gelmiştir. Son yıllarda SAB alt tiplerini tanımlamak için çalışmalar yapılmıştır, ama bu konu hala tartışmalıdır. Bu yazıda SAB'ın DSM'deki tanısal gelişiminden, klinik özelliklerinden ve alt tiplerinden bahsedeceğiz.

The most important feature of social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a marked, or intense, anxiety or fear of social situations in which the individual may be scrutinized by other people. SAD (Social Phobia) was first included as a diagnostic category in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Third Edition (DSM-III). The diagnosis of SAD has undergone substantial changes, from DSM-III to the DSM-V. For example, SAD was an alternative name in DSM-IV, but it has become the primary name in DSM-V. In recent years, studies were made to identify the subtype of SAD, but the topic remains controversial. The aim of this paper to give general information about the diagnostic development of SAD in DSM and the clinical features and subtypes of it.
