Amaç: Kendilik alanlarına özgül modeller, kendilik değerinin değerlendirilmesinde son zamanlarda giderek daha popüler hale gelmiştir. Kendilik algısının özgül alanlarına bakmak,kendiliğin karmaşık yapısının daha iyi anlaşılmasına ve değerlendirilmesine olanak sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada bir ruh sağlığı ve hastalıkları kliniğine başvuran ergenlerin kendilerini algılama profillerinin başvurmayan ergenlerinkinden farklı olup olmadığı, cinsiyet ve yaş değişkenlerinden etkilenmesi sorusuna yanıt aranmaya çalışılmıştır.

Yöntem:Çalışma kesitsel ve kontrol grubuyla karşılaştırmalı bir çalışmadır. Çalışmada biri SSK Ankara Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Psikiyatri Kliniği Gençlik Ünitesi polikliniğine başvuran, çalışmaya dahil olma ölçütlerini karşılayan ergenlerin oluşturduğu deney grubu ile kliniğe başvurmayan ergenlerden oluşan kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki grup bulunmaktadır. Her iki gruba da ''Ergenler-için Kendilik-Algısı Profili (EKAP) ve bir diğer ölçüm aracı oran SCL-90-R uygulanmıştır.

Bulgular ve sonuç: Ergen polikliniğine başvuranlar ile başvurmayanlar arasında EKAP'nin alanlarında farklılık olup olmadığı ve diğer değişkenlerle (cinsiyet, yaş) etkileşimi 2 (başvuran/kontrol) X 2 (cinsiyet) X 4 (yaş grupları) faktörlü varyans analizleri ile araştırılmıştır. Bu analiz sonucunda başvuranlar ve başvurmayanlar arasında, ''ilişkilerdeki. davranışlar'' ve ''kendini değerlendirme''alt ölçeklerinde, başvuran grup diğer gruba göre anlamlı derecede düşük puan almıştır. ''Kendini değerlendirme” ait ölçeğinde, 14 ve 17 yaş gruplarında,yaş ve grup arasında bir etkileşim olduğu saptanmıştır.

Objective: Domain-specific models of self-perception have recently gained popularity in the evaluation of self-worth. Looking at the specific domains of self-perception allows a better understanding and evaluation of the complex structure of the self. In this study, self-perception is explored trying to answear the question of whether the self-perception profiles of the adolescents who has admitted to an outpatient unit of a psychiatry clinic are different from those of the adoles­cents who has not. The effect of age and sex on self-percepion profiles is also explored.

Method: The study is a cross-sectional controlled study. There are two groups one of,which is the group of adolescents who has admitted to the outpatient adolescent clinic of the Social Security Hospital of Ankara and the other is control group. Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents(SPPA) and SCL­90-R was applied to the groups.

Results and conclusion: Whether there is a difference in the domains of SPPA between two groups was explored via 2 (admitted to the adolescent unit/control) X 2 (sex) X 4 (age groups) factors ANOVA in which the mean scores 9 subscales of SPPA were dependent variables. At the end of this analysis, the global self-worth and the behavior in the relationships of the adolescent group who has admitted to the psychiatry clinic was found to be significantly lower than that of the adolescent group who has not. In the groups of 14 and 17 [year]s of age, an interaction effect of age and the groups was found at ''the global self-worth'' domain.
