Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, alkol bağımlılarına uygulanan gnıp psikoterapisi ile Adsız Alkoliklerin (AA'nın) gruplarındaki iyileştirici etmenleri karşılaştırmaktır. Yöntem: Birinci örneklemi yatarak, sağaltılan 29 alkol bağımlısından, ikinci örneklem 16 AA üyesinden oluşmaktadır. Motivasyon, çalışma sırasındaki ayıklık, ve grup üyeliğinin süresi gibi değişkenleri denetlemek, amacıyla, ilk gruba 10 haftalık sağaltım programını tamamlamış olan hastalar, İkinciye ise AA'da 6 aynı ve AA'nın 12 basamağından ilkini tamamlamış olan üyeler alınmıştır. İyileştirici etmenlerin araştırılmasında Yalom’un 60 tümcelik, iyileştirici etmenler listesi ve Q şort tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Kişilerarası öğrenme (girdi ve çıktı) psikoterapi grubunda: ümit aşılama, kaynaşma ve evrensellik de AA örnekleminde anlamlı ölçüde daha değerli bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Üyelerin iyileştirici etmen seçimleri, bulundukları grupların tanımları ve özellikleriyle uyumludur. Ancak aralarında anlamlı fark, bulunmayan etmenlerin çokluğu, söz konusu olan ister terapi grubu, ister kendine yardım grubu olsun, grup düzeneklerinin benzer olduğunu düşündürmekledir.

Objective: This study aims to identify and compare the therapeutic factors in the group psychotherapy of alcoholic inpatients and Alcoholics Auanymous (AA) members. Method: Twenty-nine alcoholic inpatients and /(> AA members were given Yalom's therapeutic factor list: the first group at the end of a 10 weeks' treatment programme and the latter after having completed the first of the Twelve Sups and a 6 months' membership soberly. These selection criteria were set in order to control such variables as motivation, sobriety at the time of the study and the la right of group membership. Results: Interpersonal learning-input and interpersonal learning-output were found significantly more valuable by the first sample (psychotherapy group), where as ,1.1 members (the second sample) identified instillation of hope, cohesiveness and universality significantly more helpful. Conclusions: The therapeutic factors identified as helpful in each sample are in line with the definition of the groups in i/ueslioii (therapy groups in the first sample and self-help groups in the second), but the fact that the value of most therapeutic factors did not differ significantly from one sample to the other leads to the conclusion that group mechanisms are similar, be it a therapy group or a self-help group.
