Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, iki bilişsel paradigma altında elde edilen olay-ilişkili potansiyelleri (OİP) belirlemek ve bu bileşenlerle nöropsikolojik test (NPT) puanları arasındaki ilişkileri incelemektir. Yöntem: Çalışmada, en az 12 yıl düzeyinde eğitim görmüş olan, psikiyatrik ve nörolojik hastalık öyküsü bulunmayan ve bilişsel süreçleri etkileme potansiyeline sahip ilaçları geçmişte ve halen kullanmamış olan, 19-67 yaş aralığında 53 denek yer almıştır. İki farklı paradigma altında Fz, Cz ve Pz elektrot lokasyonlarından kaydedilen OİP'ler ile Stroop Testi TBAG Formu ve WCST testlerinden elde edilen puanlar arasındaki ilişkileri incelemede aşamalı çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmada elde edilen tepki örüntüsü, literatürün standart paradigmaları altında elde edilenlerle benzeşmektedir. Söz konusu bulgular, mevcut çalışmada elde edilmiş olan OİP bileşenlerinin literatürün güvenilir tepkileri olduğunu göstermiştir. Analizlerden elde edilen genel sonuçlar ise, bilişsel OİP'ler ile NPT'lerin birbirleriyle seçici olarak ilişkili olduğunu, bu ilişkililik durumunun deneysel paradigma türünden etkilendiğini göstermiştir. Tartışma: Bulgular, elde edilen OİP bileşenleriyle temsil edilen erken elektrofizyolojik aktivitenin, insanlarda, uzun süreli ayırt edilmiş bilişsel süreçlerin yordanmasında kullanılabileceğini göstermiştir.

Objective: The goal of this study was to obtain the event-related potentials (ERP) under two cognitive paradigms and to examine the relationships between the ERP components and the neuropsychological test (NPT) scores. Method: The sample consisted of participants who had at least 12 [year]s of education, were between 19-67 [year]s of age, were free of reported psychiatric or neurological disorders, and were not or had not been under medication that affects cognitive processes. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to examine the relations between the ERPs that were obtained under the two different types of paradigms from the Fz, Cz and Pz electrode locations with the Stroop Test TBAG Version and the WCST Turkish Version. Results: The ERP pattern that was obtained in this study was similar to those obtained with the standard paradigms of the literature. Such findings show that ERP components of the present study are the reliable components of the literature. The results showed that there were selective relations between cognitive ERPs values and NPT scores. Futhermore, these selective relations varied according to the experimental paradigm. Conclusion: These findings showed that the early electrophysiological activity, as indexed by the ERP components, can be used as predictors of specific long-lasting cognitive processes of humans, as indexed by NPT scores.
