Bu araştırmanın amacı, kendi cınsıyetındekılere ve diğer cınsıyettekılere ilişkin algı cinsiyet rolleri ve depresyon arasındaki iliş­kileri belirlemektir Bu amaçla, 175 deneğe (87 kadın, 88 erkek) Kışı algısı Ölçeği, Bern Cinsiyet Rolü Envanteri ve Beck Depresyon Envanteri uy­gulanmıştır Deneklerin kendi cınsıyetlerındekılerı diğer cınsıyettekılere gore daha olumlu al­gıladıkları, cinsiyet ıç-grubunun dış gruptan daha olumlu ya da olumsuz algılanmasının depresyon puanlarında anlamlı farklılığa yol açmadığı ve depresyon puanlarının bu değişkenler tarafından açıklanma oranmın erkeklerde değil kadınlarda anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur Bulgular literatür ışı­ğında tartışılmıştır

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationships among the perceptions of own-sex and other-sex, gender roles, and depression The Person Perception Scale, the Bern Sex Role Inventory and the Beck Depression Inventory were administered to 87 females and 88 males (N = 175) It was found that the subjects per­ceived their own-sex more favourably than the other-sex It was found there was not any sig­nificant differences between the depression le­vels of subjects who perceived their own-sex more favorably than the other-sex and who per­ceived the other-sex more favorably than their own-sex In predicting the depression level, some demographic variables, the perceptions of own-sex and other sex, and gender roles made significant contributions in females but not the males
