The time of adolescence, depending on the economical revolution, enables us particularly to differenciate better between idealization and sublimation. The latter, as Freud put it clearly (1914). has very little to do with repression but, rather, it makes it possible to satisfy sexual drives in a way much richer than simple discharge. Thus, sublimation and ego ideal have both to do with introjecting a capacity to deal with sexual drive impulses. The parental transmission of such an effective symbolic function mostly determine the destiny of adolescent crisis. It is a good opportunity to determine the functional differentiation between the three so called superegoical instances - superego, ego ideal and ideal of the ego.
