Psikiyatrik sınıflama sistemine son dönemde giren bulimia nervoza, yinelemelerle seyreden kronik bir hastalıktır. Etkin tedavi şeklini belirlemek için birçok tedavi yöntemi denenmektedir. Psikofarmakolojik tedaviler içinde antidepresanlar psikososyal tedaviler içinde bilişsel-davranışçı terapi (BDT) öne çıkmıştır. BDT antidepresanlara üstün bulunmuştur fakat diğer psikolojik tedavilere üstünlüğü kesin değildir. Farklı bir psikolojik tedavi seçeneği olarak kişiler arası ilişkiler terapisinin (KıT) de etkin olduğu gösterilmiştir. Bu yazıda bulimia nervozanın etiyolojisi ve tedavisi için farklı açıklamalar getiren yaklaşımlar gözden geçirilmiştir.

Bulimia nervosa, which was recently accepted as a psychiatric entity in psychiatric classification system, is a chronic course disorder. A lot of therapy methods were investigated to determine the effective treatment type. Antidepressants in psychopharmacologic treatments and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in psychosocial treatments are prominent. CBT is superior to antidepressants, but it is not clear that whether it is superior to the other psychological therapies. As a psychological therapy interpersonal therapy was shown that effective. In this paper different approaches explaining for the etiology and the therapy of bulimia nervosa were reviewed.
