Alkol kullanımı ve buna bağlı sorunlar geçtiğimiz son 25-30 yıl içinde önemli artış göstermiştir. Ülkemizde de alkol kullanım yaygınlığı ve tüketiminde belirgin artış gözlenmektedir. Bu çalışma Konya-Seydişehir Alüminyum ışletme Müdürlüğü bünyesinde toplam 2000 kadar çalışan üzerinde planlandı. Deneklere sosyodemografik özellikleri sorgulayan anket ve CAGE testi verildi. Toplam 1670 deneğin verileri değerlendirmeye alındı. Veriler SPSS'te t testi, ki kare testi ve korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirildi. Çalışmada deneklerin %26.1'inin (n=436) alkol kullanmakta olduğu, alkol kullananların ise %34.63'ünün (n=150) CAGE puanları 2 ve üzerinde (bağımlılık düzeyinde) olduğu saptandı. Her düzeyde alkol kullanan bireylerin ailelerinde alkol kullanımının daha fazla olduğu, öğrenim düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu ve daha çok memur çalışanlardan oluştuğu belirlendi. Alkol kullanım miktarı ve kullanım sıklığı ile CAGE puanları arasında olumlu ilişki bulundu.Bulgularımız tüm ülke nüfusuna genellenemezse de bölgemizde alkol kullanımı seyrek olmakla birlikte alkol bağımlılığı riskinin önemli boyutlarda olduğunu; bunun da ailesel etkenler ve eğitim düzeyi ile yakından ilişkili bulunduğunu düşündürmektedir.

Alcohol consumption and problems related to it showed an important rise in last 25-30 [year]s. A noticaple rise is also seen on the alcohol consumption and its diffusity in our country. This study was planned on totally 2000 workers of the Konya-Seydisehir Aluminium Working Directory. CAGE test and a questionnaire asking sociodemographic characteristics were given to cases. Data from totally 1670 cases were taken into consideration. Data were appreciated with t test in SPSS, Ki square and correlation analysis. 26,1% of the cases (n:436) were found to consume alcohol , CAGE points of the 34,63% of the alcohol consuming cases (n:150) were found to be 2 and more than it (at the level of dependency) in the study. Alcohol consumption was found to be more in the families of cases consuming alcohol at every levels, education levels were found to be higher and they were found to be civil servant mostly. Positive relationship was found between alcohol consumption amount with frequency of consumption and CAGE points.

The findings cannot be generalized to the all population of the country and alcohol consumption in our area is infrequent but alcohol dependency risk is thought to be at an important level and this is also thought to be related to education level and factors concerning family.
